Description

Medals from the U.S. and around the world. Military medals and orders. So-Called Dollars. This collection will encompass a wide range of items.

Nebraska Centennial. 1967. Bronze. Diameter 33.89mm. Medal turn. NGC MS 64 (#704663-005).
 
Golden Spike Centennial. 1969. Silver, 999 Fine. Diameter 64mm, 5mm thick. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, P mint mark by spike. Medal turn. Plain edge. NGC MS 62 (#2519299-001). This is a hefty medal. NGC lists diameter as 64mm, but Stack's notes the diameter as 64.5mm. The medal is 5mm thick.

This medal commemorates the completion of the transcontinental railroad at Promontory Summit, Utah. Golden spike was driven on May 10, 1869.
