Great Britian, 1739. Admiral Vernon medal / Duke of Argyle, McCormick-Goodhart #13, Adams & Chao NLv 4-D.  Obverse shows Vernon 1/2 length facing 3/4 right.  His right hand is on the mussle of a cannon.  His let hand rests on a sword. To his right is a ship sailing right.  The legend reads Non Dormit Qui Vincit (He who conquers does not sleep).  In exerque Admiral Vernon 1739 I M.  The reverse shows The Duke of Argyle full length, 3/4 to the right, wearing robes and the collar of the Garter, with the George.  He is leaning on a column on which is his coronet and behind him is a trophy of arms.  The legend reads In Hunc Intuens Clarus Esto (Be thou distinguished, observing this man).  In exerque The Duke Of Argyle.  Listed as Very Rare variety in the McCormick-Goodhart catalog.  Size is 40 mm and weight 18.16 grams.  Listed as R-6 in A&C.
