Great Britian, 1739. Admiral Vernon medal, Porto Bello, McCormick-Goodhart #22, Adams & Chao PB 2-D, listed as R-5. Obverse shows Arms with G R at top to either side. Reverse side six ships entering the harbor. The legend reads Porto Bello Taken By Admiral Vernon With Six Ships Nov 22 1739. The N's are reversed. In the exergue are the initials I.W. For the engraver. A tower points to AL of Admiral and a shaft at ON of Vernon. A line enclosed the reverse legend. Size is 38.5 mm and weight 13.23 grams.
