Panama, ca. 1935 to 1940's. David Plowman in his catalog  www.coinsofpanama.com  states: "Tentatively attributed as tree tags for Goodyear.  Goodyear started a rubber tree plantation in Panama in 1935.  According to one source, the plantation was located on the shores of the Lake Gatun.  Information is sketchy, but apparently either a rubber tree blight or the development of synthetic rubber or both brought about the end of the project after a few years."   Shape is octagon, 62 mm or slightly more, has 2 slots.  Stamped/engraved Good Year Panama, and serial number 171.  The Good Year foot symbol is between the words Good Year.   Brass, and weight 30.90 grams.  Known serial numbers include 171, 450, 461, 467 and 474.  Various catalogs list the piece:  Plowman #CK-35; Rulau #CZ 65; Catalogo Numismatico De Panama #ID 22. .
