Great Britian, 1739. Admiral Vernon medal, Porto Bello, McCormick-Goodhart #40, Adams & Chao PBv 15-L, listed as R-7. The obverse shows Vernon 1/2 length, 3/4 left, and nearly full face. The legend reads Admiral Vernon Took Porto Bello. His finger points to M of Admiral. The reverse shows ships entering Porto Bello. The legend reads With Six Ships Only Nov 22. In the exergue the date 1739. Spires point to P in Ships and to a quatrefoil. Listed as a scarce variety in the MG catalog. The size is 26 mm and weight 5.05 grams. .
