1B (1953) Gamboa Golf Club Life Membership

in Panama Misc Exonumia (currently in collection)
Panama, 1953. 1B size coin that has been planed down completely on both sides.  This is a silver coin, possibly a Panama 1B coin.  The coin is engraved on both sides.  One side reads Panama Canal Zone at the top and below Balboa Gold Club Life Membership.  The other side reads Mr. Mrs. C. M. Banan Charter Members 1937 - 1953.  There is a loop attached at the top.  The year 1953 was the 50th Anniversary of the Republic of Panama, so perhaps that is the reason for celebrating 16 years of membership in the club ?   The size is just under 38 mm, and 44 at the loop, and weight 19.77 grams.  The KM catalog lists the silver 1B coins as weighing 26.73 grams, so this souvenir planed down is probably right weight wise.  The edge is grained like a coin.
