1982 Gold 1/2B Piefort, Unofficial Coin

Panama, 1982. 1/2B struck in .400 fine gold, peifort striking, edge not reeded, and thicker than a normal coin.  Struck softly in some areas.  It is believed the gold piefort was struck using the original coin dies, but unofficial.  Viewed as a medal or fantasy issue.  Listed in the KM catalog as #P5.  Mintage unknown, but believed to be small.  Proof-like or proof condition, size 30 mm, with the edge thickness about 2.5 mm, and weight 21.93 grams.
