Panama. $1 token.  This is from the second series, no date, but ca. 1894 to 1903.  Series one was issued in 1894, and series three undated, believed struck 1903.  The obverse shows a gold miner with a shovel and pick with a scenic background.  The legend reads The Darien Gold Mining Company Limited.  The reverse has a large $1 in the center with a legend reading Para Simplificar Las Cuentas Nadamas (to simplify accounting, nothing more).  Brass, square shaped with rounded corners.  Size is 34 mm x 34 mm and 44 mm at the diagonal.  Weight is 12.36 grams.  Listed in Rulau as #Dar 5; Plumer page 9; Asociation Numismatico #F279.
