Panama / Canal Zone, ca. 1-1-1906 to 7-4-1907. Listed by Plowman #CK-2.5; Hamlin #ICC-50; and Rulau #CZ A73.  This is a star shaped ID check.  It is uniface with the reverse side blank.  It reads Isthmian Canal Commission with the number 79983.  Above the words in smaller lettering is the name of the manufacturer/supplier - Am Ry. S. Co. New York.  The ID is brass, holed for suspension.  There is a similar ID that is star shaped, but slightly smaller size and with the manufacturer name listed.  The size from top point to bottom point is 53 mm and weight 9.95 grams. .
