Panama Gold One Token (1912), Gilt Brass

Representative Images

Panama, 1912 (undated). Obverse shows a Roman head facing right encircled by a wreath.  The reverse reads Panama Gold at the top with One Token in the center encircled by a wreath.  There is no date on the token, but similar to others dated 1912.  Thomas Elder had the tokens struck in limited numbers, apparently for the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition.   This token is struck in gilt brass, size 15 mm and weight 1.00 grams / 15.4 grains.
