1918 Balboa July 4th Celebration Fancy Diving

Canal Zone, Panama, 1918. The obverse shows a standing Miss Liberty placing a wreath on the head of a kneeling athelete.  In the background is a building.  In the sky above the building the date July 4, 1918.  At the top is the Great Seal Of The United States.  At the bottom below the figures it reads Official Celebration / Balboa, Canal Zone.  The reverse side is engraved First / Place / Fancy / Diving.   At the base is the stamp of the manufacturer Robbins Co / Attleboro / Mass.  The medal is basicly rectangle in shape, tapered at the top with a loop attached, bronze gold plate.  The size varies in length but basicly 22 mm wide x 41.5 mm high.  With the loop it is 46.5 mm high.  The weight is 15.16 grams.  While the medal does not have the winner's name engraved on the medal, it may be Francis Kerr.  This medal was one of five pieces in one auction lot with the other four engraved to Francis Kerr.
