Unknown, believed to be 1893. Copper colored fine detailed piece. This piece will be listed in the new Gabriel book that is being completed. The front lettering is "SCIENCE LIBERTE". the back in french says- to the inauguration of the temple of science, which is popular with the people. Oct 1893 I have two of these beautiful copper medals. The second one i received came from Belgium along with a note. It said that this medal was created in 1888 to celebrate the new building being put on the campus of the La libre de Bruxelles that was founded in 1863. It measures 52mm. They are two of my more cherished pieces in my Statue of Liberty collection.
