Panama Merchant Chit, Bodega Central

 Panama, ca 1930's. Merchant chit, Plowman #CT-315.00, BODEGA CENTRAL / Calle 10 y A. Guerrero / Colon, R. De P.   Most likely used in lieu of small change to purchase store items.  Size 51 mm x 17 mm. Light cardboard, white with black ink, made with ink stamp, appears to have been made from a grocery item box.   Ex-Eugene Hamlin, Jr collection.  Gene collected these while he was living & working in the Canal Zone.  He felt they were from the time fram 1930's to 1940's.
