Panama, ca 1909 - 1914. Obverse has initials at the bottom, I.C.C.  The serial number 38888 above in large numbers.  Above the serial number the employee's name is engraved - A. C. Van Brocklin.  Below the number the date - Nov. 5, 1906.  The reverse side is blank. This ID check was issued between January 19, 1909 and April 1, 1914.  They became invalid after June 30, 1914.  The personalized engraving perhaps designates the employees date of hire, or some other important date for him.  Further research is needed.  The ID check is round with an oval slot at the top.  Above the slot is Am.Ry.S.Co. New York, which is the name of the manufacturer of the ID checks - American Railway Supply Co.  Listed in Asociacion Numismatico ID-8, Plowman CK-2.6, Hamlin ICC-60, and Rulau CZ74.  This piece is ex-Eugene Hamlin, Jr collection. The size is about 35.5 mm, weight 7.81 grams, and this particular piece has been nickel plated over brass.
