1982 Gold 1/2B Piefort, Unofficial Coin

Panama, 1982. 1/2B struck in.400 fine gold, piefort striking, edge not reeded, and thicker than a normal coin.  Struck softly in some areas.  It is believed the gold piefort was struck using the original coin dies, but unofficial.  Viewed as a medal or fantasy issue.  Listed in the KM catalog as #P5.  Mintage unknown, but believed to be small.  NGC graded PF63 Ultra Caneo, 30 mm, weight 21.61 grams (weighed prior to encapsulation), NGC #2194293-005.  Reverse side rotated in alignment.
