Panama counterstamped coins 1935 & 1938 + Lincoln cents

Panama, 1909 thru 1938. Counterstamped Panama coins dated 1935 and 1938 are know with one of 4 different counterstamps on the obverse side.  Also, U.S. Cents dates 1909 thru 1938 are know with similar counterstamps.  An article appeared in the Dec 13, 1977 issue of World Coin News, authored by Daniel K.E. Ching.  He was kind enought to send a photograph of 4 coins showing the 4 different counterstamps found on the Panama and U.S. Coins.  He raised questions as to who produced the counterstamps, the purpose, etc.  Also illustrated in his article are a number of examples.   Please note that if you click onto either photo it will also bring up the rest of the article.  At some point in the future I will also list 2 or 3 of these counterstamped coins that are in my collection.
