1793. Silver. Diameter 39mm, 27.5 grams. A minutely hand-engraved ship on fire scene with inscription in French commemorating the ship's "conflagration" in 1793. A famous oldtime French coin dealer (I forgot his name momentarily but he is the "Godfather" of 20th century French numismatics) was so impressed by it when he examined it while visiting the Long Beach coin show that he chased me around the bourse floor, in his mid-80's, insisting that I sell it to him. Alas, I had just acquired it minutes earlier. Ex Dick Heller.
