1835. Silver. 53mm × 64mm, 49.8 grams. A very early and ornately engraved American silver sharpshooting medal with hi-relief hand-worked applied rim. Most early American sharpshooting medals are unique and uniquely hand-engraved in an era when sharpshooting was a popular pasttime and hunting was not only hazardous but frequently put food on the table.
