I collect, research, and write about historic medals, focusing on originals medals pertaining to the colonial area of the Americas.  My more specific collecting areas are revolutionary War medals, medals pertaining to Benjamin Franklin, and early colonial medals referred to as Betts medals. My focus is on medals before 1650 relating to the colonial western hemisphere.

My profile picture is of the original gold medal awarded to George Washington by the early United States Congress for Washington chasing the british out of Boston, in my opinion America's greatest treasure!  No, the gold Washington medal is not part of my collection...but I do have examples of copper medals struck from the same dies as Washington's medal.
